The City of Powell River is offering an extensive Summer Program that caters to the recreational, social and educational needs of the community.
SUMMER CAMP & MINI CAMP
We require the services of dynamic, dedicated and resourceful summer students. For our Summer Camp positions applicants will be working with children ages 6 - 12 years in a day camp setting. Duties will include organizing daily activities, planning crafts and games, overseeing beach activities, and supervising field trips. In addition, you will be required to help with the marketing of the program by making visits to schools and participating in special community events. Our Mini Camp position will be working with children ages 3 - 5 years. Duties will include organizing daily activities and planning age appropriate crafts and games.
Applicants must have strong organizational skills and work well as part of a team. First Aid certification is required for all camp positions, and lifeguarding certification and a Class 4 Drivers License are assets to the Summer Camp positions. Applicants are to be registered fulltime at a registered post secondary institution. Applicants for the Summer Camp Coordinator position must be 19 years of age by June 1 2018 and able to obtain a Class 4 Drivers License.
1 Summer Camp Coordinator ($18.00 per hour) 35 hour week
- Employment dates: June 18 - August 28, 2018 (11 weeks)
1 Summer Camp Leader ($17.00 per hour) 35 hour week
- Employment dates: June 25 - August 28, 2018 (10 weeks)
1 Mini Camp Coordinator ($18.00 per hour) 20 hour week
- Employment dates: June 25 - August 24, 2018 (8 weeks) * No Mini Camp August 7 - 10, 2018
