Manager of Parks and Facilities (Full-Time Permanent)
(Salary Range $97,716 – $112,200 per year)

The City of Powell River is looking for an innovative leader to join our team as the Manager of Parks and Facilities. Reporting to the Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of maintaining the City’s parks, sports fields, beaches, trails, and green spaces. You will also oversee the facility maintenance and physical plant operations of the recreation complex, including aspects of capital planning and capital improvement projects. As a collaborative, customer-focused leader, you will ensure a coordinated effort in the delivery of these services. Using your strong communication skills and innovative spirit, you will ensure that program delivery meets the needs of the community and the highest standards of service excellence. The ability to effectively lead staff, manage multiple projects and work effectively with community groups is critical.
Ideally, you hold a degree or diploma in parks and recreation management, natural resource management, facility management or a related field, along with at least five (5) years experience in parks, recreation, and/or building maintenance leadership. Two (2) years at a supervisory or management level in a municipal environment is preferred. Additional specialized qualifications in areas such as horticulture technology, landscape architecture, strategic planning, or power engineering is considered an asset.
