Project Manager- Engineering Services (Temporary - 2 year term)
(Salary Range $119,952- $137,700 per year)

We have exciting capital projects on the horizon and are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager to provide technical support to the engineering services department. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Services, you will play a lead role in managing and delivering a variety of capital projects. Having a solid understanding of civil engineering, you’ll review drawings and schedules to fully understand and provide input on capital projects and work with the Procurement team in preparing, tendering and awarding RFP’s and contracts. Leading the way through the life of the project, you will evaluate risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them. As a seasoned leader, you’ll provide guidance to consulting engineers and technical staff, analyze date and prepare reports, conduct onsite inspections, monitor and assess construction progress, and ensure compliance with standards. Your ability to build and maintain effective relationships and facilitate open dialogue will be essential to delivering the project deliverables on time and on budget.
Ideally, you hold a University Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering and are registered, or eligible for registration, with the relevant professional association in British Columbia (EGBC, ASTTBC). You have at least five (5) years of related experience in structural and mechanical project deliver with sound knowledge of project and contract management principles including master municipal contract documents and Canadian construction documents. A skilled communicator and negotiator, you have demonstrated success in engaging multiple stakeholders, resolving conflicts and applying creative solutions when problem solving.
The successful applicant must be willing to relocate to Powell River; relocation assistance is available.
