Manager of Recreation and Culture Services

(Salary Range $116,300 - $133,500 per annum)

 

In this dynamic leadership role, you will shape and deliver a wide array of programs, activities, and events that enhance the health, wellness, and vibrancy of our community.  With a strong background in recreation, cultural programming, and municipal operations, you blend strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to service delivery. You thrive in people-focused settings and bring warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm to your work.

 

Reporting to the Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture and working closely with other City departments, you will ensure the coordinated delivery of high-quality programs and events across our city.  You will lead and manage a portfolio that includes recreation and sports programming, cultural and arts initiatives, community events and festivals, facility scheduling, operational and capital budget management, and policy development. Guided by principles of inclusion and wellness, you understand the power of recreation and culture to bring people together, promote equity, and enhance overall quality of life.

 

Ideally, you hold a degree in Recreation Management or a related field, with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a unionized setting.

 

You have a proven ability to lead diverse teams, foster collaboration across departments, and build meaningful relationships with community stakeholders. Whether developing programs, managing budgets, or facilitating events, you demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and a proactive mindset. You are energized by variety and challenge, and you bring both structure and imagination to every initiative you lead.

This is a full-time permanent position with annual salary range of $116,300 - $133,500.  We offer a competitive benefit package that is wholly paid for by the employer, a superior pension plan and relocation assistance.
